Fourteen circular walks in and around Radstock by Peter Bradshaw, Larry Cunningham and Sue Fraser.

This brand new book, which is priced at £5.00, is published by Radstock Museum.

All the walks in the book start and finish at Radstock Museum. They vary in length from 1.3 to 9.3 miles and include some limited wheelchair/pushchair accessible possibilities. There is a map of each route and clear directions with the points of interest encountered on the way well described; these include many reminders of Radstock’s rich industrial heritage.

The whole publication is ring bound to make it easy to use. It is illustrated in colour throughout with historic photos taken from the Radstock Museum archives and with other contemporary photographs.

Sue Fraser, one of the book’s authors, says ‘While out walking in the area I was delighted by the beautiful countryside around Radstock and the amount of railway and mining history to be found on en route’.

The authors are generously allowing all the proceeds from sales of their book to go towards the upkeep and development of Somerset Coalfield Life at Radstock Museum.

This new book of Radstock walks builds on the success of the book of walks, by the same authors, based around the village of Timsbury.
Twenty circular walks in and around Timsbury by Peter Bradshaw, Larry Cunningham and Sue Fraser, £4.00.

Both these books are now available to buy directly over the counter at Radstock Museum shop and at The Connies Tearooms in Timsbury. The Connies is a fine village tea shop and a good stopover if you are in Timsbury.
The Museum tea shop is a must for walkers starting, finishing or passing through on their walks in Radstock. You can enjoy the Museum tea shop without purchasing a Museum entrance ticket (although, of course, we hope that you will).

You can also buy both books by Mail Order through the Museum Shop.
