The pictures of today are the archives of the future.

Every week the Midsomer Norton, Radstock & District Journal publishes a picture, from the past, of a nearby location.  Your challenge is to safely find the location, snap a shot and email it to . Many of the photos will become part of the Museum archive. The first competition runs from March until May.

The spring 2019 Then and Now photo completion is drawing to a close.

There is still time to submit an entry. Please scroll down  this page to read how to enter the competition.

Closing date and Judging.

The last photo for the Then and Now competition will be published in the Journal on Wednesday 29th May.

Therefore the last chance to enter this completion will be during the following week May 29th to June 5th.

Entries will close on June 5th and judging will start on June 8th.

The competition judge is local photographer, Will Nicol.

10 winners will be chosen and their names and both the Then and Now photos will be published in the Journal over the following two weeks.

Winners’ reception.

A reception will be held for the 10 winners (and one guest each) on Saturday June 29th at the Museum from 11.00am until 12.00 noon.

Becky Brooks, editor of the Midsomer Norton Journal, and judge Will Nicol will both be at the reception and the Journal will be there to take pictures.

The Then and Now images will be on display at the Museum from Saturday June 29th.

How to enter.

All entries must be clearly marked with your first name, surname, phone number and email address so that we can contact the winners.

All contributions will be acknowledged in The Journal & displayed in the Museum. Winners will be invited to a preview celebration of the ‘best of the best’ entries in May.

Please try to keep your photographs as good quality as possible and take care when taking your photo.
