We are offering two events for visiting children who are accompanied by an adult.

On Wednesday June 1st from 10am until 12 noon.

Arts and Crafts: a ‘Crown and Bunting’ making morning.

Get ready for the Queen’s platinum jubilee by making (and modelling), a crown and making some festive bunting for the Museum.

Children can take their crowns home to wear on the Bank Holiday weekend for any Jubilee parties and the bunting will be used to decorate the outside front of the Museum.

Children will also have the opportunity to make a hand held waving flag to take home.

Each child will receive a free fairy cake.

Cost of the event for every child over 1 year old is £3. Children must be accompanied by an adult for which the charge will be £1 (unless they can show a current Discovery Card.)

No booking is required. We have enough crowns, flags, bunting, cake and volunteer help for over 70 children within the 2 hours. You will be notified at the entrance if we reach fully capacity.

The tea room and the shop will be open.

For the whole of half-term running from Saturday May 28th until Sunday June 5th; during normal opening hours.

Queen’s Quiz Quest will be a children’s trail around the Museum. Find all the crowns to reveal royal, stately secrets and win a Free prize. The trail is Free for our Museum visitors.
