Currently we are unable to offer assisted evacuation from the upper floor of the museum in the event of a fire. Consequently, if you would not be able to use the staircase to evacuate the building we would advise not visiting the upper floor and restricting your visit to the ground floor. We apologise for this situation and are currently urgently reviewing our arrangements to ensure that in the near future both floors of the museum will be fully accessible to all.

The museum has a lift to the upper galleries. There is level access on each floor with ample space to manoeuvre between displays. The Museum has an accessible toilet on the ground floor. Seating is available throughout the Museum and information boards include pictures and large font text. Staff are always on hand to offer assistance where required.

Working Assistance Dogs are welcome in the Museum.

If you have any queries or require any assistance please phone 01761 437722 in advance or email info@radstockmuseum.co.uk

The picture above shows the designated disabled parking area immediately in front of the Museum entrance. Additional disabled parking spaces are available in the Waterloo Road car park.

We have prepared a downloadable document, a Visual Guide, to tell you what to expect on a visit to our Museum. If you feel you would benefit from seeing the museum’s layout and getting your bearings around the 2 floors: please click here.…
